HONOLULU to NARITA
Our tour begins this morning as we assemble at the Japan Airlines lobby at the airport for baggage check-in. We will then depart Honolulu for Narita International Airport. During the flight, a meal and a snack will be served.

Friday, January 15 (Day 02)
NARITA to BANGKOK (THAILAND)
We arrive at Narita Airport for a short layover before continuing to Bangkok. Upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, we will clear immigration and customs before transferring to our hotel for a five-night stay in Bangkok.

Saturday, January 16 (Day 03)
BEST OF BANGKOK EXPERIENCE & CHATUCHAK WEEKEND MARKET  (B)
We will start off our tour with a scenic long-tail boat ride along Bangkok’s historic canals, known as klongs, and discover why the city was once nicknamed the “Venice of the East.” Next, we will enjoy a short ride through the Old City in a classic tuk-tuk, Bangkok’s iconic three-wheeled open-air taxi, as we weave through the historic heart of the city. Our next stop is the magnificent Grand Palace, the former royal residence of the Chakri Dynasty and one of Thailand’s most treasured landmarks, renowned for its exquisite architecture and rich history. Within the palace grounds, we will visit Wat Phra Kaew, home to the revered Emerald Buddha, the most sacred religious icon in Thailand. We will then continue to Wat Pho, famous for its impressive Reclining Buddha and recognized as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage. To this day, the temple remains an important center for traditional Thai medicine and wellness practices. In the afternoon, we will enjoy some free time to explore the vibrant Chatuchak Weekend Market. With more than 15,000 stalls, it is one of the largest outdoor markets in the world, attracting nearly 200,000 visitors every weekend. From handcrafted treasures and unique souvenirs to tantalizing street food and local delicacies, the market offers a sensory-rich experience that beautifully captures the essence of Bangkok’s vibrant culture.

Sunday, January 17 (Day 04)
MAEKLONG RAILWAY MARKET & DAMNOEN SADUAK FLOATING MARKET (B) (L)
We will begin our day with a scenic drive into the Thai countryside, where we will experience the country’s vibrant local culture and peaceful riverside way of life. Our first stop is the famous Maeklong Railway Market, also known as Talat Rom Hup, which translates to the “Umbrella Pulldown Market.” Here, we will witness vendors skillfully pulling back their awnings and merchandise just moments before a train passes directly through the market—a remarkable display of precision, tradition, and everyday life. Next, we will visit a traditional coconut sugar farm to learn how local farmers continue to produce this beloved sweetener using time-honored techniques passed down through generations. We will then board a traditional long-tail boat for a relaxing cruise through the canals, offering a glimpse into the daily lives of the riverside communities. Our journey will take us to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Thailand’s most iconic floating market, where vendors sell fresh produce, local delicacies, handcrafted goods, and souvenirs from narrow wooden boats. We will explore the lively market, sample local snacks, browse the colorful shops before savoring lunch at a riverside restaurant. We will conclude our day with the most famous Lady Boy Show in Bangkok showcasing high energy performance with elaborate costumes, lip syncing and comedy.

Monday, January 18 (Day 05)
KANCHANABURI – BRIDGE OVER RIVER KWAI & TRAIN RIDE (B) (L)
This morning, we will drive west of Bangkok to visit Kanchanaburi, a scenic riverside town where the Khwae Yai and Khwae Noi rivers meet to form the Mae Klong River. Our journey through history begins at the JEATH War Museum, named after Japan, England, Australia, Thailand, and Holland, which documents the harrowing experiences of prisoners of war and forced laborers who constructed the infamous Death Railway during World War II. This railway is also known for inspiring the 1957 film, The Bridge on the River Kwai, although the movie is a fictionalized interpretation of the actual events. We will then enjoy a scenic train ride along a section of the historic Death Railway, offering stunning views of the river and surrounding countryside. A relaxing riverside lunch will be provided for you before we head back to our hotel.

AYUTTHAYA PROVINCE – BANG PA-IN SUMMER PALACE – LONGTAIL BOAT RIDE  (B) (L)
This morning, we will step into the world of Thai royalty with a visit to Bang Pa-In Summer Palace in the historic province of Ayutthaya. Once a seasonal retreat for the kings of Siam—and still occasionally used by the Thai royal family today—this elegant palace complex showcases a captivating blend of Thai, Chinese, and European architecture, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and tranquil ornamental lakes. Following our visit, we will enjoy a delicious Thai lunch at a local restaurant, where we will savor authentic regional flavors in a relaxing setting. We will then explore Ayutthaya Historical Park, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, we will discover the magnificent ruins of ancient temples, towering prangs, and centuries-old Buddha statues that offer a fascinating glimpse into Thailand’s rich cultural heritage. To conclude the day, we will board a traditional long-tail boat for a relaxing cruise along the Chao Phraya River, where we will enjoy picturesque views of Ayutthaya’s historic temples, riverside communities, and everyday life along the water before returning to our hotel.

Today, we bid farewell to vibrant Bangkok and board our flight to Chiang Mai, Thailand’s beloved cultural capital, nestled among misty mountains and ancient temples. Upon arrival, we will settle into our hotel before enjoying a traditional Khantoke Welcome Dinner, featuring authentic Northern Thai cuisine accompanied by cultural performances. This memorable evening offers the perfect introduction to the rich culture, warm hospitality, and unique traditions of northern Thailand.

CHIANG MAI CITY – THA PHAE GATE – WAT PHRA THAT DOI SUTHEP (B) (L)
Today, we will discover the charm of Chiang Mai, the largest city in northern Thailand and the cultural heart of the ancient Lanna Kingdom. We’ll begin at Tha Phae Gate, one of the city’s most famous landmarks. Originally part of the fortified walls surrounding the old city, this historic gateway once served as a principal entrance and remains an enduring symbol of Chiang Mai’s rich heritage. From there, we’ll travel up the forested mountainside to approximately 1,066 meters (3,500 feet) above sea level to visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai’s most revered temple. The temple enshrines a sacred relic of the Lord Buddha, making it one of northern Thailand’s most important pilgrimage destinations. Following our temple visit, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can sample authentic northern Thai cuisine. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to relax, explore the city, or shop at your leisure.

ELEPHANT SANCTUARY – LONG NECK KAREN VILLAGE  (B) (L)
We will take a scenic drive north into the countryside to visit Elephant EcoValley, nestled amid lush tropical surroundings. Here, we will meet, feed, and walk alongside rescued elephants in a peaceful, natural setting. As we prepare their food, observe their playful routines, and watch them bathe and relax in a cool mountain stream, we will learn about their lives, behaviors, and the sanctuary’s commitment to ethical elephant care. This meaningful experience is rooted in respect and compassion, with no elephant riding involved. We will also discover how elephant dung is transformed into eco-friendly paper products before enjoying a hearty lunch. After leaving the sanctuary, we will visit the Long Neck Karen Village for a unique cultural experience and photo opportunity. During our visit, we will learn about the distinctive traditions of the Padaung women, who are known for wearing brass rings around their necks.

MAE KACHAM – WHITE TEMPLE – CHIANG RAI PROVINCE- GOLDEN TRIANGLE (B) (L)
Our tour continues with a scenic drive through rolling hills, lush valleys, tropical forests, and charming villages. Along the way, we’ll stop at the Mae Kachan Hot Springs, where you can stretch your legs, mingle with the locals, and observe the natural thermal springs. We’ll then continue to the world-famous White Temple, locally known as Wat Rong Khun, near Chiang Rai. With its brilliant white exterior, intricate carvings, and shimmering mirrored details, this remarkable temple offers a striking fusion of traditional Thai architecture and contemporary artistic expression. After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll continue exploring Chiang Rai Province with a visit to Chiang Saen, an ancient walled city along the banks of the Mekong River. Once an important center of the Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Saen is home to historic ruins, temples, and fascinating reminders of its rich heritage. Our journey concludes at the renowned Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet. Once associated with the region’s opium trade, this historically significant area now offers sweeping views of the Mekong River and the meeting point of three nations.

Sunday, January 24 (Day 11)
DOI INTHANON NATIONAL PARK (B) (L)
Today, we will journey south of Chiang Mai to explore Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand’s highest mountain, rising 2,565 meters (8,415 feet) above sea level. Warm clothing is recommended, as the summit is often cool and misty. Our visit includes the iconic King and Queen Pagodas, built to honor the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, the pagodas offer breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We’ll also visit some of the park’s most impressive waterfalls, which cascade through lush forest scenery. Before returning to Chiang Mai, we’ll stop at a Karen community market, where you can browse locally grown produce, handicrafts, and traditional goods while learning about the culture and daily life of one of Thailand’s ethnic communities.

This morning, we will embark on a delightful culinary adventure with a Thai cooking class at the renowned Chiang Mai Cookery School. Under the guidance of professional instructors, we will learn to prepare four to five authentic Thai dishes while gaining hands-on experience with traditional ingredients and cooking techniques. It’s the perfect opportunity to sharpen your culinary skills and bring the vibrant flavors of Thailand home with you. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Relax at the hotel, explore the charming streets of Chiang Mai, or browse the local markets for last-minute souvenirs. Wednesday, January 27 (Day 14)
BANGKOK to HANEDA to HONOLULU – (B)
We will transfer to Suvarnabhumi Int’l Airport for our flight back to Honolulu with a layover in Haneda International Airport, arriving on the same day due to the crossing of the International Date Line. A meal will be served on board the flight.

The tour price is based on double occupancy and a minimum group size of 20 passengers.  Fare adjustment may apply for groups of 20 or under.  The rate is based on tariffs and exchange rates effective 7/1/2026.  Tour fare is subject to change according to any airfare increase, additional fuel surcharges and fluctuation of the rate of exchange between U.S. and foreign currency.  In the event of revaluation, the land portion of the tour price may be adjusted prior to your final statement.  We reserve the right to revise the content of the itinerary if necessary due to unforeseen issues, weather and safety concerns.
